Website Development Highlights Collaborative Research, Expands Workforce Development and Innovative Growth

Since the start of 2018, Howell Creative Group has partnered with the ODU Research Foundation to develop brand images and websites for collaborative research institutes and economic innovation hubs. Each brand identity and website is the center where collective partnerships, research, industry ecosystem management and talent development coalesce with the goal of igniting Virginia’s regional advancement in innovation and economic impact.

Websites were strategically designed to represent common goals to enhance entrepreneurship opportunities, public partnerships, research and workforce development within our region. Each Initiative shared similarities in structural navigation yet were represented by their own unique components.

Building a united brand

ODU brand development was unique to each project. We embarked upon uncovering the core goals and purpose of each initiative through collaboration, examples and research. We worked closely with our parters to identify audience, brand strategy and explore identity, voice and personality. Each initiative had to stand out individually yet work cohesively as a part of the ODU Research Foundation.

Evolution of a website through content development and partnerships

We were challenged to create dynamic and intuitive websites from something that didn’t yet exist. As a partner, we built each site by researching information and building content while the institute developed. Throughout the process, we recommended how to work with limited content, provided research development and pitched ideas on how to partner with other similar organizations for access of photos related to individual initiatives.
